Spectrum Tv Choice Full Review
Spectrum TV Choice Review
Spectrum TV Choice is a live TV streaming service available to Spectrum internet customers for $25 per month.
This streaming service gives you a personalized experience by letting you choose (hence, the name Choice) at least 15 of the channels in your lineup from a selection of 65 popular networks.
Although the price and customization make this service stand out, you’ll only get 10–40 cable TV channels, depending on where you live.
If you like the idea of simplicity, this could be your next live TV streaming service. We’ll go over all of the details to help you decide.
What is Spectrum TV Choice?
Like Spectrum and streaming? Well, Spectrum TV Choice is a live TV streaming service available only to Spectrum internet customers.
It offers a trimmed-down channel lineup (15 cable channels of your choice plus local channels) and a lower monthly price ($29.99 per month) than traditional cable TV plans. So basically, it’s lean, clean Spectrum streaming. And don’t worry—we’ll tell you whether it’s worth it.
- Affordable price without a contract
- Only pay one bill for internet and TV
- Cheaper than any basic cable TV plan on the market
- Very few channels compared to other TV services
- Sling TV offers 35+ channels for $15 more
Is Spectrum TV Choice good?
Spectrum TV Choice can be a good choice if you’re a Spectrum internet customer and you don’t mind a two-year contract.
At $29.99 per month, Spectrum TV Choice is cheaper than any basic cable package out there.
It also has more popular cable channels to choose from than basic cable, including the best premium channel add-on out there (Spectrum Premium Pack), which gives you HBO Max, SHOWTIME®, STARZ®, STARZ ENCORE, and THE MOVIE CHANNEL discounted at $40 a month.
But depending on the channel list you want, another cheap live TV streaming service like Philo ($25 per month; no contract) might work better for you.
We should also say that extra features like DVR storage, HD channels, and on-demand shows and movies aren’t Spectrum TV Choice’s strong suit, either.
We recommend YouTube TV ($64.99 per month; no contract) or a traditional cable package from Spectrum (starting at $49.99 per month; 2-year contract) if you gotta have them extras.
How much does Spectrum TV Choice cost?
Spectrum TV Choice costs the price of a t-shirt, a quick meal for two, or that fourth pair of knock-off sunglasses you probably don’t need.
This live TV streaming service is only $25 per month for 10–40 channels when you order Spectrum internet (jump down to the internet section to see your download speed options).
Depending on where you live could determine how many channels are in your lineup. We recommend you hop on that free 7-day trial to see how you like it.
- Animal Planet
- Comedy Central
- Food Network
- Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
- HBO Max
- Lifetime Movie Network (LMN)
- Paramount Pictures
- STARZ ENCORE
Does Spectrum TV Choice have premium channels and add-ons?
This live TV streaming service is perfect for those who want their favorite channels and all of the premium content.
Spectrum TV Choice advertises the Spectrum Premium Pack for Choice customers because it’s the best premium channel deal you can get with this service.
Five premium channels for $40 per month? That’s a sweet deal.
How Spectrum TV Choice Works
Choose 15 of your favorite TV channels from a selection of 65 popular networks. Then, access your full channel lineup from any device to stream live and On Demand virtually anywhere. No cable box needed! It’s like a custom streaming service made just for you.
Which devices are compatible with Spectrum TV Choice?
Spectrum TV Choice makes it easy to stream live TV channels and on-demand content while at home relaxing on the couch, or on the go waiting in line at Disneyland.
You can stream on unlimited devices while at home, and while away from home, you can stream on two.
But the bummer is this live TV streaming service is compatible with many devices, but not all.
The Spectrum TV app is compatible with the following streaming devices:
- iPhones, iPads
- Android smartphones and tablets
- Kindle Fire (excluding the first generation)
- Google Chromecast
- Xbox One
- Samsung Smart TVs (2012 and newer)
Spectrum TV Choice’s DVR storage is disappointing
We’re not happy with the fact that you get a limited number of live channels with this service, and you have to pay a little extra for the DVR service.
We think Spectrum TV Choice should include Cloud DVR storage if it wants to be a competitive live TV streaming service.
For $4.99 per month, you get 50 SD storage hours. But 50 hours might be enough if you think you couldn’t possibly record and save 50 TV shows or 20 movies.
Just make sure you watch your recordings within 90 days because they’ll erase from your library at that point.
Recap: Is Spectrum TV Choice worth it?
Spectrum TV Choice isn’t one of our top five picks for live TV streaming services.
Spectrum TV Choice only gives you 10–40 channels for $25. If you’re lucky, you might be paying $1 per channel.
But this live TV streaming service is for you if you like the simplicity of one bill with one service, and you want a guide with only the channels you love.
